Things to do in Iceland

Iceland is a small European country having a population of mere 350,000 humans and its population density is 103,000 kilometer square, located in the Northern side of the Atlantic Ocean.  The Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland; it is the largest and the financial city of this European nation. Every Iceland receives thousands of guest because of its rich beauty nature spots, beaches, sumptuous cuisine, cool and windy weather, and regional wine and not to forget the nightlife of Iceland.

There are many things to do and watch in Iceland and some of them are given below-

The gulfoss waterfalls-

Golden waterfall is the nickname of the gulfoos waterfalls because on a bright sunny day the rays of sun gets reflected on the water making the water look sparkling golden liquid.  Mostly travel packages to Iceland include a visit to this waterfall. There a unique story behind the ownership of this waterfall, the gulfoss waterfall was owned by a small girl in the 20th century and when some investors bought this place, they wished to build an energy plant. But, that girl disagreed and as a protest against their project he walked 120 kilometers barefooted and this helped to build a strong local campaign against the electric power generation project and this eventually succeed at the end. So, your visit to Iceland is imperfect, if you not witness this waterfall.

The geyser volcano

This is really an admirable and amazing natural phenomenon which attracts most travelers. Here firstly, the water goes 2000 meter deep under the ground and after that due to high temperature the water raises 70 meter above the ground with a crushing hush sound. This is natural beauty that visitors and you should never miss or skip visiting this nature spot.

The Blue Lagoon

This is one of world most charming and beautiful artificial lake which has a temperature of around 40 degrees. And, this distinctive feature makes it ideal for swimming throughout the year. The views of ice and snow in the blue lagoon seduce the global travelers to visit this place with their family. There are also some nearby traditional shops for those, who are fond of shopping.

The Northern Lights

This is a very unique and strange nature phenomenon which you can see in Norway, Finland and Iceland.  This happens due to winds that are filled with ions which strike the pole of the earth, and sparkling green rays of lights appears.  This fantastic natural scenery allures the visitors to plan their trip to Iceland.  The best season to witness this phenomenon is between the months of September and March as during this month’s weather conditions are favorable.
