First and the foremost tip, have a light healthy meal before leaving for a long-distance bike drive because heavy meals take time and a lot of energy to digest and make you feel drowsy which in turn may lead to serious road accidents.
Pack and take some hearty snacks with you, only if you have some extra space. This is the best way to save some bucks.
Carry water and drink regularly at every stop to stay hydrated and drink a lot more in summer to keep up the water level in the body. Take a frozen water bottle as it will stay cool for a long time. You can also keep some handy energy drinks bottles.
Avoid eating at big chain restaurants; instead, stop at highway side dhabas to have your lunch or dinner. As usually these dhabas are not expensive in comparison to big giant restaurants.
Enjoy your ride with your some special and stop at every beautiful tourist spot, otherwise you’ll be thinking afterwards that why I didn’t. Stay ahead of time and search online before starting your journey to find some admirable spots that your pass by during your long-distance journey.
To avoid folding and unfolding the journey map, again and again, use your smart phone for real-time navigation.
Don’t forget to take some selfies and photos at each tourist spot-covering historic monuments, historic road, hills, etc.
Always keep a pair of binoculars in the front pocket of your backpack, they are handy to see what’s ahead and to do bird watching to nature watching, do whatever you love.
If you wear spectacles, take a spare pair of glasses along with you. In case you misplace them or broke them.
